Paisley Babylon Tracks On Electronic Sadism Compilation Album

Paisley Babylon is featured on the Chicago electronica compilation, Electronic Sadism. This album features bizarre, hallucinatory and challenging electronic music, some of which borders on Power Electronics genre sounds as documented by the magazine As Loud As Possible.

Paisley Babylon takes your brain to new regions of Marquis de Sade sonic depravity with featured tracks including “Ever Hear Me Screaming?” and “Jazz Murderess“. Paisley Babylon is featured nine times on this compilation, including collaborations with the Aleister Crowley-inspired Thelema USA.

If you enjoy your electronics trippy, challenging, and completely in outer space, Electronic Sadism is definitely the compilation album you need.

Paisley Babylon “Chemical Erotica” Series

Paisley Babylon has completed material for a five-EP series called Chemical Erotica, which will be released in CD format only as a limited edition from Turntabling Records. Hand-picked tracks from each of the five six-song EPs will be available as MP3s but the concept is a physical-release only to be sold and distributed via Turntabling.net and places online where Turntabling sells records.

Chemical Erotica marks an interesting mutation for Paisley Babylon, which has been recording more aggressive sounds as of late and combining the earlier moody ambient and synth-laden underground doom-pop textures with abrasive, hard-edged music.

Paisley Babylon’s Joe Wallace describes the sounds as being a reaction of the times. “Not to get too boring and political here, but times are tough–worse than tough for many. How frustrated do you feel by the bad economy, gas prices threatening to get to five dollars a gallon, the American dream housing market in the toilet, layoffs, you name it?  You could call this a musical exorcism of all that.”

Turntabling plans to issue the first EP of the five-part series exclusively on Etsy.com, the online sales destination for DIYers, steampunks, goths and other subcult lovers. More information on availability of the EPs and where to purchase them will come in the next two weeks.

Paisley Babylon Free MP3: Watching The Golden Girls On Ketamine

February 20, 2011 Paisley Babylon news No Comments

The latest strangeness from the studio of Paisley Babylon is a twisted mass of sound inspired by 3AM conversations and too much adlut beverage consumption. The resulting fever dream is brought to you now as PB gathers its forces to create a followup album to Songs From the Interstellar Hash Bar Jukebox.

Believe it or not, that followup is more than half finished already and there is much more to come. This project is more glitchy and noisy than with releases past…so much so that Paisley Babylon is considering a warning label which reads “All Sounds On This Release Are INTENTIONAL”. But it’s probably a bit of overreaction…then again, who knows? It could get worse as the recording sessions go on…and on…and on.

Brace yourself for this, the latest Paisley Babylon track, Watching The Golden Girls On Ketamine. Listen or download for free, gratis, on the house. It’s available at no charge until the band decides to release it as a single…

Paisley Babylon Songs From The Interstellar Hash Bar Jukebox Debuts

Paisley Babylon Songs from the Interstellar Hash Bar JukeboxTurntabling Records is proud to present the latest CD by Paisley Babylon. Songs From the Interstellar Hash Bar Jukebox has been submitted to iTunes, Amazon.com, and plenty of other digital outlets.

The album is 17 tracks of electronic acid trips. Founder Joe Wallace is fond of referring to Paisley Babylon music as “double features at the chemical drive-in”. Listening to the new album it’s easy to hear what he means.

Songs From The Interstellar Hash Bar Jukebox continues in the same trippy, late-night altered states listening experience as the previous release, Midnight Hallucinations. Each of the seventeen tracks is a complete space journey. According to Joe Wallace, “This album is futuristic sex music for double-bed isolation tank lovers. Or maybe it’s the fever dreams of Hal 9000 before Dave pulled the plug. Either way, you are sure to have a long, strange trip.” Indeed.

You can get a preview all tracks via iTunes. The whole album is $9.99, quite a bargain compared to buying all 17 tracks individually over time as you get addicted to leaving your mind while listening.

I am selective about my bookings--unlike other DJs, I don't do unlimited music selections "with everything from Jay-Z to Britney Spears". A DJ Paisley Babylon show is quite different. Listen to the mixes--if you need the kind of atmospheres I create, don't hesitate to get in touch. I have my own gear, and will travel. E-mail me: jwallace (at) turntabling (dot) net.
