An avalanche of Paisley Babylon tracks, that is. Paisley Babylon will be releasing a series of tracks via this website for purchase and download. Some are reissues, some are never-before heard things, and it’s going to be a very interesting experiment in both how this site is used (by Paisley Babylon) and how PB music will be distributed going forward.
Thanks very much for your interest in Paisley Babylon. It’s been a very long career and there is still a lot of sonic experimentation to be done!
Once the uploads start here, there could be daily changes and mutations to this site. Just what you have always wanted, yes?
Boy are there a LOT of tracks here. Fans of Nurse With Wound, Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, Coil and other early industrial acts might find a thrill or two by listening to this material. Are you into theremin and old-school analog electronics? Here we go!
Tonight, Friday October 17 2014, Paisley Babylon does a three-theremin performance at StudioLab, located in Chicago’s Bridgeport Art Center 1200 W. 35th Street Chicago Illinois 60609. StudioLab is on the 5th floor of the art center, take the elevator to the 5th floor and follow your ears.
There will be free wine and beer while supplies last. This performance is part of the Bridgeport Art Center Third Friday Artist open studios event. Don’t miss this!
It’s time for Paisley Babylon to get into recording mode once more and I’m doing it entirely at my art space at Bridgeport Art Center….Paisley Babylon is exploring new sonic territories and you might just see a bit more PB on social media and elsewhere…PB hasn’t really taken part in the social media explosion and I am probably wayyy behind the times on that one.
There is no working title or preliminary track to tease here yet–this announcement usually comes after some creative work has been done, but this time it’s hitting the site as I set up my recording gear and get ready to move forward again.
Paisley Babylon has long flirted with film soundtrack work, and indeed has actually made it into some projects and videos…but I am looking foward to doing more work for visual media in the future. Stay tuned for news and developments on that front.
