The latest Paisley Babylon news is soundtrack-related; PB is scoring music and atmospheres for the Chicago indie short film, 45 RPM. It’s a murder mystery featuring a clue heard on a seven-inch single and there will be sinister music and Morricone-esque cues throughout.
A rough cut of the film is being worked at the time of this writing and Paisley Babylon heads into the studio soon to record the eerie sounds required, as well as intro and closing credit music.
This isn’t the first time Paisley Babylon has done soundtrack sounds, but it’s the first horror film project and it’s hoped that this will be a larger part of the Paisley Babylon experience in the future. Soundtracks are a particular favorite in the PB camp; Ennio Morricone, Bruno Nicolai, John Carpenter, Dust Brothers, so many name and sounds…all married to images on the silver screen, but just as powerful as stand-alone musical experiences.
45 RPM wrapped principal photography in August and will hit the film festival and horror convention circuit in 2013; updates on the film and soundtrack as things develop.
